Hailing from Algeria, Imene Ayadi was born to filmmaker parents and grew up in the dynamic and challenging environment of 1990s Algeria. At 17, she moved to Nice, France, to study filmmaking at the Higher School of Audiovisual Production. After graduation, Imene quickly established herself in the industry, working as an assistant director on numerous short films, documentaries, and TV series. In 2019, she made her directorial debut with the short film *The Old Kalbelouz*, featuring Ahmed Benaïssa in the lead role. This marked the beginning of her journey as a director, blending her rich cultural heritage with her cinematic education. Imene’s work continues to reflect her unique perspective, shaped by her upbringing and experiences across Algeria and France.
